Expressway Park Ribbon Cutting & Lighting Ceremony

EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH – Join BREC on Thursday, November 3, for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate new features that have been added to BREC’s Expressway Park downtown. A major lighting project was recently completed at Expressway Park. Athletic field lights were mounted to Interstate 110 to provide light to the football practice field. In addition, lights were added to the parking lot that serves the field and the Recreation Center, the Walk-On’s basketball court, and area lighting under the interstate structures to provide patrons with longer hours for events and added security. Other new amenities include outdoor fitness equipment at Myrtle Street Trailhead, newly-planted trees to provide shade, and a newly-sodded and graded football field to improve field quality and drainage.
